Intimidation of the Bull Bar

I used to own a truck but mine was a little girly Nissan that I drove only for the purpose of getting from one location to another within the city where I lived. Whenever I’d get on the highway and have to pass "real trucks", I felt like something of a wimp in my little girly truck. I also felt like a lot of those trucks were just showing off their stuff.

For example, I would see big trucks with a bull bar on the front of them and I’d figure that the thing was there just for looks and intimidation. When you’re driving a little truck and suddenly there’s this massive truck so close behind you that its bull bar is practically in your truck bed liner, you can’t help but feel a little bit intimidated.

Eventually I learned there is actually a purpose to these truck accessories. In fact, there are several purposes. Bull bars protect the truck from damage in case of a collision and are specifically designed to protect the truck from collision with animals which is why they’re often found on trucks owned by hunters. They also serve as a place for mounting extra lights on the truck. Still, I’m convinced that a lot of guys get them to intimidate us girls on the road!
