The Businesses I Have Worked With

I have had a lot of jobs in my life. I started my working career as a 16 year old bathroom cleaner in the local McDonalds. Two years later, I went to college and upgraded to a McDonald’s manager where I was great at my job, but frankly hated it. A few years later, I did another upgrade to a union job in a grocery store, then to management there, and eventually on to work with Hartford pool contractors who I had known since I was a child. The New Haven pool builders that my brother had long since been working for offered me another job a year later that paid 40% more and eventually, I was set up with a great job that carried me the rest of the way through college.
No matter how much money I have been able to make in my life, I have never really had as much fun as I did with those Connecticut pool contractors. It was a great time in my life – we used to go out after a long day of digging and laying pool liner to ride in the fields behind a friend’s house. We would go out on the weekends and the guys were always good to me (not something I can claim about any of my bosses or coworkers since then).
