Pre-School Paperwork

As the mother of twin pre-schoolers, my summer resolution was to organize and dispose of the papers and arts projects the kids brought home throughout the school year. If you are the parent of a pre-school aged child, you already understand. For those of you who haven’t sent your little one off to pre-school, the amount of paperwork brought home by 3 and 4 year olds is mind boggling. Pre-school today does not resemble the pre-school we attended many moons ago.

When I volunteered at their school, I was tasked with helping the teachers get ready for the following days. The director of the preschool taught me how to use a paper folder to create booklets the kids were working on. The kids were tasked with publishing a booklet about their family tree (Actually I thought it was a cute idea!). Next, I used a stack cutter to ready the materials for an arts and crafts project. 500 pieces of paper were cut into 2 inch stripes in 5 minutes flat. Guillotine cutters must save teachers time and energy because it makes preparing for arts and crafts projects so easy.
The kids are always proud when they bring home their papers and projects so I put up with them as long as I can. We’ll save a few of the best or most original works of art and the rest will decorate the trash can.
