Planning Out Your Online Storefront

Before you go ahead and set up an online storefront, you should make sure that you do some planning. By making your choices on paper before you implement them, you will be able to save yourself from a lot of stress.
Here are some things to think about when setting up your online business:
- What will the domain name be? Do you need a .net ecommerce site or are you going to be going with just a .com? Does the name tell people what you’ll be selling?
- How are you going to get the site set up? Will you be using shopping cart software to set up the purchasing process on your site or will a web designer be taking care of that for you?
- What pages of information about your business do you need? Think of what questions a new visitor to your site may have and make sure to answer them before they have to ask.
- How can you showcase special deals? Every good business advertises promotions and sales on a regular basis. Figure out how you’ll make yours work for you.
A well-planned site can be the best start to forming a successful business. Go through each step of the site before you actually start working to give yourself the best foundation from which to grow.
