Are You Being Watched?
By postR in Technology | 0 comments
Many of the families I babysit for are quite wealthy, so I often worry about them having nanny cams. It’s not that I think I’m doing something wrong, but just that I feel uncomfortable about the idea of being watched. It makes me too self conscious to do my work right sometimes.
Realistically, you are probably being watched without even knowing it — all the time! Most businesses have surveillance cameras all over the place — to watch the employees as much as the customers, I think. Businesses don’t even trust their own people anymore! Sad.
Also, a lot of people now have home security cameras watching both the insides and the outsides of their homes. So next time you are in someone’s home, especially someone wealthy, smile — you could be on candid camera!
And then of course there are the conspiracy theorists who think that there are always cameras everywhere, watching them. Perhaps the idea isn’t half crazy, just taken to an extreme. I’ve heard that your cell phone can be turned into a listening device without your knowledge (presumably it would be the government listening in), that they can spy on us with satellites, etc. Who knows what of it is true — but regardless, it’s a creepy thing to think about being watched without your knowledge!
